Switch from ZenMaid

Switching from ZenMaid, step by step

ZenMaid is fine until you outgrow it. Then the move looks like the hard part, so most owners put it off. It is not: your customers, their homes and notes, your recurring cleans and every upcoming visit come across in one upload. This page is the whole plan, including what does not move so nothing surprises you. Want the feature-by-feature comparison first? PurVago vs ZenMaid. Still comparing options? See our full list of ZenMaid alternatives.

The move, in three steps

1

Export from ZenMaid

  1. In ZenMaid, open Contacts and choose Export. Save the CSV.
  2. Open Appointments, then Actions → Export data. Set the end date a year or more ahead so your recurring cleans are in the file. Save that CSV too.
2

Upload to PurVago

In PurVago go to Clients → Import, choose the ZenMaid preset and upload the customer file. Columns are matched for you; check the preview and confirm. Or email the files to sales@purvago.com and we load everything within a business day, free.

3

Invite the team and go

Invite each cleaner from Team. They install the PurVago app and sign in. Turn on customer reminders and on-the-way texts, and the next visit runs from PurVago.

What carries over, and what stays behind

No surprises. This is the full list.

Comes across

Customers and contacts

Names, emails, phones, billing address, customer notes, type, first-serviced date and marketing source.

Homes and access notes

Service addresses, square footage, bedrooms and bathrooms, gate and lockbox codes, pets and parking notes, plus any custom fields.

Recurring cleans

Repeating appointments in the ZenMaid export become recurring plans in PurVago, with the same day, frequency, duration and price.

Upcoming visits

Every dated visit in the file goes straight onto the schedule, assigned to the matching customer and home.

Your team

Invite each cleaner by email or text from Team. They install the app and sign in. Two minutes per person.

Stays in ZenMaid

Invoice and payment history

Old invoices stay in ZenMaid for your records. Export them as PDF or CSV before you close the account. PurVago starts a clean ledger from your first visit.

Saved customer cards

Card details cannot move between payment processors. Customers add a card once, in one tap, when they pay their first PurVago invoice from the portal.

Sent emails and texts

Past message history does not move. Reminder and on-the-way texts start fresh from PurVago the day you switch.

Job photos and checklists

Past before-and-after photos stay in ZenMaid. Your checklists are quick to recreate as home-level checklists in PurVago.

Booking form

Replace the ZenMaid booking form on your website with your PurVago quote page. It is one link, and it can also take video walkthroughs from customers.

Why cleaning companies make the switch

1

Estimates from photos

Your customer, or your crew, snaps the rooms. PurVago counts bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces and drafts the estimate with your prices. ZenMaid has no equivalent.

2

Automations on the plan with texting

Review requests, on-the-way and cleaning-complete texts, cancellation notices and win-backs are included on Team and Business, not held back for a top tier.

3

Unlimited users

ZenMaid bills per cleaner. PurVago bills per plan, so hiring your tenth cleaner costs nothing extra in software.

The week you switch. A short checklist owners have found useful.
  • Export your invoices from ZenMaid before the account closes, for your records and your accountant.
  • Keep ZenMaid open until the last invoice sent from it is paid. Run everything new in PurVago.
  • Tell customers once: "You'll get texts and invoices from PurVago from now on." PurVago's first invoice email invites them to the portal.
  • Swap the booking link on your website and Google Business Profile to your PurVago quote page.
  • Walk the crew through the app on their first morning: Today, the checklist, photos, clock in.

Start the trial, then send us the files

14 days free. A card is required to start, nothing is charged during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends at no cost. Email your exports to sales@purvago.com the same day and your customers and schedule are loaded before you finish setting up.

ZenMaid is a trademark of its owner. PurVago is not affiliated with ZenMaid. Export paths are from ZenMaid's product as of September 2026 and may move; tell us at sales@purvago.com if a step here is out of date.

Questions people ask before switching from ZenMaid

How long does the move from ZenMaid take?

Most companies finish in an afternoon. The two exports take a couple of minutes each, the upload takes one, and the rest is checking the schedule and inviting the team. If you would rather not touch it, send the files to sales@purvago.com and we load them within a business day, free.

Will my recurring cleans carry over from ZenMaid?

Yes. Repeating appointments in the ZenMaid Appointments export become recurring plans in PurVago, and the dated visits already in the file go onto the schedule. Set the export end date well ahead so the file contains them.

What does not carry over from ZenMaid?

Invoice and payment history, saved customer cards, sent message history, past job photos and your ZenMaid booking form. Export invoices before closing the account; customers add a card once in the PurVago portal.

Can I run both for a couple of weeks?

Yes. Many owners keep ZenMaid open until the last already-invoiced visit is paid, and run everything new in PurVago. Your PurVago trial is 14 days, which is usually enough to overlap.

Does PurVago charge per cleaner?

Once, at a single step. Solo is a single-user plan for owner-operators working alone, at $49 a month for up to 40 jobs. The moment you have a team you move to Team at $129 a month, and from there every cleaner you add is free, employees and contractors alike. Business is $299. So there is one price change when you stop working alone, and none after it.
